The Salient Gives Back (SGB) Committee has announced its annual Salient Gives Back Scholarship. The purpose of this important innitiative is to provide assistance to students who are pursuing undergraduate, conservatory, vocational or any educational certificate/degree that will provide a career path for the individual.

The scholarships will be funded by proceeds from the silent auction held during Salient's annual corporate employee event and funds raised at the National Sales Meeting, with matching funds provided by Salient Surgical Technologies.

The winning recipients will be chosen by the SGB committee and scholarships awarded based on personal references, previous volunteer work and an essay. Scholarship awards will not be based on financial need.

Interested applicants can download the application packet from the links provided at the bottom of this page and send the completed forms to the Salient Gives Back Committee at the address included on the application. The applicant will be asked to provide:

• Three personal references
• GPA/transcripts from the last educational institution attended, or copy of your GED
• Statement of intent (area of study, school choices)
• Provide an essay on a predetermined topic.
• List of your voluntary service activities

The applicant must maintain a continuous enrollment of at least half time (if also maintaining employment at the time of study) to full time (if focus is strictly on school) and must show a history of volunteer work or community service. The SGB committee recognizes that there are a variety of circumstances and learning opportunities and any educational pursuit will be considered.

The chosen applicant must perform forty (40) hours of volunteer work or community service of their choice before the scholarship is awarded and given directly to the educational institution, in keeping with the spirit of the SGB mission statement. Applicants can reapply each year they meet the requirements of the scholarship.
